Gastro-enteritis
Gastro enteritis is an inflammation of the stomach, small intestine and/or colon (gastrointestinal). Most cases are infectious, although gastroenteritis also due to the intake of narcotics and chemical toxins.
Symptoms:
The nature and severity of the symptoms vary. The complaints generally arise quite suddenly. Symptoms are; vomiting, weakening and a grey/white mucous stool, decreased appetite and often sensitivity around the abdominal area.
Cause:
Infectious gastroenteritis can be caused by viruses, bacteria or parasites. It can e.g. be caused by the Entamoebe invades in the digestive tract.
Treatment:
Also here is important to the animal as soon as possible of the others to separate animals and by a doctor as soon as possible. A course of treatment with medications is inevitable to save the animal. The vet will prescribe antibiotics to eliminate the pathogen and an anti-inflammatory to reduce inflammation. If necessary there will be moisture.
